Connecticut AFL Program
The Assisted Family Living (AFL) program in Connecticut is a Medicaid-funded program that provides elderly or disabled individuals the opportunity to live with a host family in their home. This program is designed to provide a safe and comfortable living environment for participants, as well as individualized assistance and support with activities of daily living. The AFL program is an affordable alternative to nursing homes and other assisted living facilities, and allows participants to remain part of a family unit while receiving the care they need. Host families receive training and support from the Department of Social Services, and are financially compensated for their participation. The AFL program is available to residents of Connecticut who meet program eligibility requirements.
